Our Dog-Friendly Staycation At The Four Seasons Hotel
Turning 30 is definitely off to a fabulous start. We enjoyed our very first dog-friendly staycation in Montreal at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate the occasion, and it was a dream!
Did you know The Four Seasons was dog-friendly?
As one of Montreal’s newer luxury hotels, I was eager to have the perfect occasion to book a staycation at The Four Seasons Hotel Montreal—and this was it, especially since we were able to bring Henry with us.
Special thank you to the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal for receiving us, and for the little attentions that made my 30th birthday extra memorable!
If you’re looking to pamper yourself (and your pup!) on your next trip to Montreal, look no further.

A City-Lover’s Dream
Upon arrival at the Four Seasons, we were warmly welcomed by the doormen, who were eager to pet Henry. I love that they already knew his name (it’s the little things!) Of course, we had to stop and snap a pic in the iconic lobby, before checking in.
The beauty of living in the city is that we were able to walk to the hotel and enjoy being a tourist for a moment. We walked throughout the Golden Square Mile, enjoying a little window shopping along the way.
Fun fact, the hotel is directly connected indoors to Holt Renfrew Ogilvy, the flagship luxury department store. Perfect rainy-day activity! After a quick online search, it seems dog-friendly, but I would always verify before you shop.
Are restaurants in Montreal dog-friendly? Some restaurants and coffee shops allow dogs on their terrace, especially if they’re well-behaved. Make sure you plan ahead and inquire with the restaurant beforehand.
Does your dog need to unleash some zoomies? Check out these dog parks conveniently located within a 10-minute walk of the hotel: Percy Walters Dog Park and Lucien L’Allier Dog Park.
Dog-Friendly Details
During our stay, there was no additional pet fee for Henry, however, make sure to inquire with your Four Seasons location before booking.
After a quick online search, there seems to also be a pet weight restriction (under 25 lbs). This may be different for service dogs, but again, always verify before booking.
A luxurious, plush bed and food and water bowls were all ready for Henry when we got to the Premier Carré Doré room, on the 10th floor.
Henry’s favorite part of the room (besides our comfortable bed) was the giant, floor-to-ceiling windows. With views overlooking Montreal’s Golden Square Mile, Henry would sploot on the chaise longue and watch the birds fly by.
My favorite part: the lavish bed with down duvets and pillows and the sleek, marble bathroom with the stand-alone bath. (yes, I took a bubble bath!) And of course, we had to take a family selfie in our matching bathrobes– a staycation must!
Other fun room highlights include a fully stocked bar, including shaker and glasses (I know some dog mamas who’d enjoy this!) a Nespresso coffee maker, iPad room control and 24h in-room dining.
You can check out the full Premier Carré Doré room tour here.
Plan For Your Puppy
Dog mom pro tip for male dogs: pack belly bands. This is a handy product to have when traveling with your male dog. Henry is fully potty-trained, but can be unpredictable when in a new place, especially if other dogs have been there before him. These belly bands give me peace of mind. You can find them here.

Like most hotels, pets mustn’t be left unattended in the room. Good thing we booked our favorite pet-sitters Wagging Tails Montreal to take care of Henry while we enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner at Marcus Restaurant & Terrace.
This stunning open-concept terrace located on the third floor is a must if you’re visiting Montreal. You may even spot a few local celebrities!
A few of my faves on the menu: the Forbidden Fruit cocktail, roasted tiger shrimps, the burrata and allll the desserts!
Our dog-friendly staycation ended on a delicious note, with in-room brunch the next morning. It’s not a staycation without breakfast in bed, right? And it was prepared so quickly too! Ordered and received all within 30 minutes. Of course, I shared the blueberries on my waffle with Henry (his fave!)
Overall, our dog-friendly staycation and 30th birthday celebration was a dream! From the exquisite accommodations to the attentive service, we absolutely loved our experience.
We can’t wait to visit The Four Seasons Hotel Montreal again and explore their indoor pool, spa and fitness center! Until then, we’ll enjoy these memories from our first ever dog-friendly staycation in Montreal.
